Trip Introduction

Tamang Heritage Experience Trek is a newly discovered trekking route that is located between Mt. Langtang (7227m) and the Ganesh Himal (7422m). Among the various amazing locations in Nepal, this trail in the Langtang region is comparatively lesser visited but equally as thrilling as the others. This trek offers an opportunity to immerse in the cultural experience of the Tibetan-influenced Tamang community. As well as a chance to enjoy the mesmerizing mountains and the wilderness of alpine terrain. For an experience among the splendid mountains, this trek is a suitable choice for any traveler.

The Tamang Heritage Experience Trek has an easy access to Kathmandu valley starting with a scenic drive to Syabrubeshi’s. Passing through traditional Tamang villages like Goljung, Gatlang, Nagthali, and Briddhim. We will experience the authentic culture and way of life of the people which has remained unchanged. The area is close to the Tibetan border and is culturally rich and fascinating. The local Tamang people in the antique villages are some of the most kind and welcoming people in Nepal. We can immerse ourselves in the daily lives of these people taking in their unique customs and traditions, which can be a great learning experience. The homestay culture in this region is also quite remarkable.

At Briddhim, the locals offer food and accommodations on a rotational basis. And often gather in the evening in their traditional costumes and perform cultural songs and dance to welcome the visitors.  Its a traditional lifestyle away from the commercialized accommodation. During this trek we will also experience the hot spring of Tatopani . Besides the cultural aspect, the trekking trail is equally rich in its natural beauty, offering breathtaking views of mountains such as Langtang Himal (7227m) and Ganesh Himal (7422m), lush rhododendron and pine forests as well as beautiful landscapes of the sub-alpine terrain.

Day To Day Itinerary

Day 1

After your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be received by our company representative and transferred to the selected hotel. A short brief about your trip is given and welcome dinner is held at the hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2

From Kathmandu, we drive through the winding roads along the hills with stunning views of mountains like Manaslu, Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. Through the highway moving alongside the Trishuli River, we will reach the small village of Syabrubensi, which will be the starting point of our trek. Overnight stay at Syabrubensi.

Day 3

Our trek begins from Syabrubensi along a steep trail till we reach Rongga Bhanjyang. We reach a viewpoint where we can see fantastic views of the Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda range and Langtang Lirung. Then, we descend until we reach Goljung village and make a gradual ascend to Gatlang through various villages with Buddhist Chortens and Mani walls. Overnight stay at Gatlang.

Day 4

Our trek continues by descending to Thangbuchet, which is near Chilime village. Stunning views of peaks like Ganesh Himal (7422m) and Langtang ranges will accompany us along the way. Then, we pass the Chilime Hydropower Dam and move further till we reach Tatopani. Tatopani has natural hot springs where we can take a bath. It is believed to have a healing quality. Overnight stay at Tatopani.

Day 5

We trek towards Thuman passing through Brimdang and Nagthali. Once we reach the Tamang settlement of Brimdang, we walk uphill for a few more hours to reach Nagthali hill. It offers mesmerizing views of snow-covered Langtang Lirung (7227m), Paldor, Ganesh and Sanjen Himal Ranges. Next, we trek downhill to the Tibetan influenced Tamang village of Thuman. Overnight stay at Thuman.

Day 6

From Thuman, we follow a flatter section of trail and then descend till we reach Timure. The route is along the ancient salt trade route to Tibet. We can also take a short hike to Rasuwagadhi to see the historical fort. Then, we follow the trail to Timure. The trail offers mesmerizing views all along the way. Overnight stay at Timure.

Day 7

We trek through lush forests of rhododendron and meadows towards Briddhim, which is another Tibetan influenced Tamang village situated at the bottom of Langtang Himal (7227m). In this village, we can explore the traditions, customs and local rituals of the Tamang people. We might have an opportunity to see the cultural dance and song performed by the locals in the evening. The homestay culture of Briddhim is also quite popular. The tourists are offered food and accommodation by the villagers on a rotational basis. The Dukchu Monastery is also a great place to observe the Tibetan influenced Buddhist culture. Overnight stay at Briddhim.

Day 8

On the last day of the trek, we head back to Syabrubensi along a forested path filled with rhododendron till we reach Wangyal. The trail mostly covers pine forests, cultivated lands, and meadows. Along the way, we will be accompanied by the magnificent view of Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges in the backdrop. Overnight stay at Syabrubensi.

Day 9

We will drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubensi in a private vehicle. We will drive through same rough road till Trishuli. We will reach Kathmandu in about 7/8 hours enjoying the beautiful views of mountains, massive hills, and rivers along the way. In the valley, you can fancy shopping at the local markets.

Day 10

You will end your affair in Nepal and head back to your home or next destination. A corporate Adventure member will assist you as you head to the Tribhuvan International Airport.
