Trip Introduction

Relatively newer addition to the trekking routes in Nepal. Pikey Peak Trek lets you discover the Everest, lower Khumbu region, and their surreal mysteries. The trek offers the majestic Himalayan ranges along with the exclusive experience of Sherpa culture and lifestyle. Mountains, Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Makalu (8463m), and Kanchenjunga (8586m) grant the trekkers with plenty of opportunities to relish upon their magnificence. Moreover, the monasteries of Buddhist faith spread a sense of spiritual contentment along the trek.

Our journey to Pikey Peak starts with a picturesque drive to Dhap Bazaar from Kathmandu. The trek officially takes flight. Traversing the lower Khumbu region, the trek heads to Jhapre and then to the Pikey Peak Base Camp. The Pikey Peak is said to offer enthralling views of Mt. Everest (8848m) and its neighboring peaks from a lower elevation range. From Pikey Peak, the trek paves the way towards Loding and then to Junbesi. Considered as one of the best short treks, the trail also leads to Thupten Choling Monastery from Junbesi, which gives you taste of rich Buddhist culture.

Gradually following the pleasant trails, the journey rests at Phaplu, where you explore another famous monastery of the region, Chiwong Monastery. The lush valleys, beautiful vegetation, huge Mani walls, old monasteries, and rhododendron forests along with the beautiful sunset and sunrise views are the major charms of this trekking route.
