Where is Mardi Himal?

Located south east of Annapurna Base Camp and just south of the iconic Mt. Machhapuchhre, the peak of Mardi Himal rests at 5,553 meter above sea-level. Within a 4 days trek in the Annapurna Region one can reach up to Mardi Himal Base Camp and marvel at the stunning Annapurna Himalayas of Nepal! As the Mardi Himal Trek follows a route of the Annapurna Circuit trek and the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, trekkers can also make a detour and go towards Poon Hill and Ghandruk for an even better experience. How hard is the Mardi Himal Trek?

The Mardi Himal Trek is not so hard at all with just a total of 6 trekking days and a maximum elevation of 4,500 meters, this trek in Nepal is doable for novice trekkers or families. With longest trekking times of 7 hours per day with viewpoint breaks makes this trek in Nepal ideal for any type of trekker or outdoor lover!

The route of the Mardi Himal trek

Following the route of the Mardi Himal trek we start trekking from Phedi to Deurali, from where we head east and then north towards Forest Camp. Heading all the way north passing Low Camp and finally reaching High Camp, our final stop before Mardi Himal Base Camp. One of the best seasons to do the Mardi Himal Trek would be in mid-October. The views are just incredible and the valleys are full of life.

Day To Day Itinerary

Day 1

  • Arrival at the international airport
  • Transfer to your hotel
  • Meet & Greet at our office for your trek reparation
    Overnight stay in Kathmandu

Traveler’s note: Thamel is also called Backpacker’s Paradise and an ideal place for shopping, visiting charming restaurants or get some useful gear

Day 2

  • Hotel breakfast and check out
  • Transfer to the buspark
  • A scenic drive takes us to Pokhara
  • Transfer to your hotel
  • Rest of the day is free
  • Overnight stay in Pokhara

Traveler’s note: Pokhara is filled with charming lake side restaurants and offers great places for a good dinner!

Day 3

  • Hotel breakfast and check out
  • Drive by vehicle to Phedi for about 30 minutes
  • Here we start the trek towards Deurali
  • The route goes upwards passed amazing rustic village
  • After a good hike upwards we reach Dhampus
  • From here we head to Pothana
  • Here our route leads straight northwards to Deurali
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Deurali

Traveler’s note: It’s amazing to see Mt. Machhapuchhre coming closer and closer as the trek commences. From Dhampus we can see our first incredible views make sure to ask your Corporate Adventure Treks guide about all the mountains in view! In Deurali we get to see amazing views of the Annapurna South and the Hinchuli.

Day 4

  • Breakfast and departure
  • We head on the trail to Mardi Himal Base Camp
  • Following the path through forest terrain
  • Arrival in Forest Camp for lunch
  • Ascending further the whole day we reach our first camp
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Low Camp

Traveler’s note: Mt. Machhapuchhre 6,933 m is the highlight of today!

Day 5

  • Breakfast and departure
  • We follow the Nangge Danda towards High Camp
  • The trek is mostly over a grassy ridge with amazing 360 views
  • A good day of trekking brings us at High Camp
  • Dinner and overnight stay in High Camp

Traveler’s note: Today there are high chances to spot Nepal’s national animal the Daphne Pheasant! At High Camp we get see incredible views of the Annapurna South, Hinchuli and of course Mt. Machhapuchhre. Tomorrow we head for Base Camp so make sure your cameras are ready!

Day 6

  • Early breakfast (about 4 am)
  • Today we leave our gear at High Camp and head up to Base Camp
  • Stop at the view point for an amazing sunrise view
  • It’s a good hike upwards and the views are absolutely rewarding
  • Arrival at Mardi Himal Base Camp west side
  • Enjoy the views and take those photos and videos or take in the moment
  • Head back down to High Camp
  • Dinner and overnight stay in High Camp

Traveler’s note: On the way to Base Camp we can see a lot of the local herbivores grazing such as sheep, yaks and goats along with Daphne Pheasants. From Base Camp we can see amazing views of the Annapurna South, Sanctuary Peak, Mardi Himal, Hinchuli and Mt. Machhapuchhre!

Day 7

  • Breakfast and departure
  • We put Mt. Machhapuchhre at our back and head down to Sidhing
  • Follow the trail down across amazing paths for the entire day
  • Reach Sidhing Village
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Sidhing

Traveler’s note: Did you know that Sidhing is a traditional Nepali village and an ideal place to learn more about the local culture!

Day 8

  • Breakfast and departure
  • It’s our last day of trekking and we make sure to enjoy every bit
  • A good half day trek slowly downwards until reaching Lumre village
  • From here we take a vehicle back to Pokhara
  • Hotel check in
  • Rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy what Pokhara has to offer
  • Overnight stay in Pokhara

Traveler’s note: we can also arrange a fly out from Pokhara but, Pokhara has also a lot of cool activities such as bungee jumping or paragliding for an extra day in this amazing city consult your Corporate Adventure Treks Team during your booking to make the necessary arrangements.

Day 9

  • Hotel breakfast and check ou
  • Transfer to the bus park
  • A scenic drive takes us back to Kathmandu
  • Transfer and check in your hotel
  • At the evening we have a special farewell dinner with a live culture show
  • Overnight stay in Kathmandu
