Enjoy a magnificent trek in the most sought-after trekking destination in the world –Everest Base Camp and experience an adventurous aerial tour towards Kathmandu. The luxurious trek goes through the pristine Dudh Koshi Valley overlooking a few of the highest mountains in the world including Mount Everest (8848m), Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.

Located in the northeastern frontier of Nepal, the Everest Region is home to the indigenous Sherpa tribe. One of the first persons to climb the Everest, Tenzing Norgay, belonged to the Sherpa community. Enjoy observing the rich culture, lifestyle, tradition, cuisine, arts, and architecture of the Sherpa tribe along this trek.

Everest is home to the Sagarmatha National Park (a UNESCO designated Himalayan national park), Tengboche Monastery (the highest Buddhist monastery in the entire region), Ngozumpa Glacier (the longest glacier in Nepal), and Khumbu Icefall (the most dangerous Himalayan route).

The 12-Days adventurous trek commences with your arrival in the historical Kathmandu City followed by a delicious welcome dinner. Embark on a short Himalayan flight to Lukla, the gateway to Khumbu Region, and begin trekking alongside the Dudh Koshi River towards Namche Bazaar. You will walk past numerous beautiful Sherpa settlements en route.

You will enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo village and begin walking through the lush green vegetation, waterfalls, and long wooden bridges towards Namche Bazaar overlooking the magnificent Kongde Ri (6187m). The trail continues through Dudh Koshi Valley and climbs uphill towards Tengboche Monastery. After visiting the century-old monastery, you’ll begin climbing uphill through Pangboche towards Dingboche.

Walk alongside the Khumbu Glacier and cross Lobuche to arrive at Gorakshep, the transit to Everest Base Camp. A short detour will take you to Everest Base Camp followed by a hike to Kala Patthar. Enjoy viewing the majestic summit of Mount Everest and Lhotse Peak from the highest point of the trek before heading back to Gorakshep.

The trip cuts short and you’ll embark on a helicopter to fly back to Kathmandu via Lukla. Enjoy the beautiful aerial tour of the scenic Everest trail and lush green forests and massive rivers of Central Nepal as you fly back to Kathmandu.

DAY 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,593ft)

Welcome to Kathmandu! Upon your arrival at the airport, our representatives will warmly receive you and drive you to your hotel through the bustling town. As nothing is planned for today, you can freshen up and enjoy the refreshment. We will take you to our office where you’ll get to meet your trek guide and discuss the trip in detail. It will be followed by a delicious welcome dinner in the finest Nepali restaurant located in the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 02: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,563ft) 30 minutes flight, Walking Distance 8km, 3 - 4 hours trek

The day begins with a ride to the airport. You’ll embark on an early morning flight to Lukla located in Khumbu Region. The flight may last anywhere from 25-30 minutes and will take you over the pristine hill and forested valleys towards the gateway of Everest. You can enjoy your breakfast at Lukla and check your bags before embarking on the first day of the trek. The trek begins at Lukla and advances slowly through the thick Sherpa settlements alongside the massive Dudh Koshi River towards Phakding. Although a short trek, you will get to warm up your body for the upcoming trek. Overnight in Phakding.

DAY 03: Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft) Walking Distance: 10.7km, 5 - 6 hours

After early morning breakfast, you’ll embark on the second day of the trek. Today, you’ll begin climbing alongside the Dudh Koshi River and past few waterfalls en route to Monjo. Monjo village marks the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park.

You’ll get the permit and continue trekking through the unique Himalayan flora and fauna of the park towards Namche Bazaar. If you’re lucky, you may get to witness the exotic bird of Nepal Lophophorus or Himalayan Pheasant. A short uphill trek will bring you to the largest village in the region, Namche Bazaar, overlooking the beautiful Kongde Ri Peak. You can spend the evening exploring the village. Overnight in Namche.

DAY 04: At Namche Bazaar: Acclimatization

After breakfast overlooking the beautiful mountains, you’ll embark on a tour of the village. You will spend the day acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar and indulge in a short hike to the nearby villages.

Adjacent to Namche lies Khumjung village that is home to the majestic Khumjung Monastery. You can visit the monastery and witness the purported Yeti scalp preserved inside a glass box. A short distance from the monastery is the largest school in the region, Edmund Hillary School. After making a short scan of the place, you will begin hiking downhill and make your way towards Namche Bazaar via Kunde village. Namche is bustling with many locals and tourists. You will also find many shops and restaurants in the area.

DAY 05: Trek Namche Bazaar to Deboche (3,820m/12,530ft) via Tengboche (3,860m/12,664ft) Walking Distance: 10.5km, 5-6 hours

Leaving Namche, you’ll begin climbing the stone steps towards the top. The trail continues alongside the Dudh Koshi River and heads to Phungi Thenga village. You’ll walk past the village towards the rocky terrain overlooking the beautiful mountains in the north.

A short uphill trek will bring you to Tengboche Monastery overlooking the majestic Ama Dablam peak. You can choose to explore the monastery before heading forward. The monastery is known to host the annual Tiji festival that is attended by many locals and tourists. The day will end at Deboche village which lies at a short distance from Tengboche.

DAY 06: Trek Deboche to Dingboche (4,410m/14,469ft) via Pangboche Walking Distance: 10.5km, 5-6 hours

From Deboche, the trail rises further north and heads towards Pangboche village. You will cross the mighty Imja Khola and head towards the Sherpa settlements that are also home to thousands of Mani Stones. You will find the imagery of Buddha and Tibetan literature painted all over the large stones. After having your lunch, you’ll continue forward and make your way towards the village of Dingboche overlooking the beautiful panoramic sight of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam.

DAY 07: At Dingboche: Acclimatization

Spend the day acclimating at Dingboche overlooking the beautiful sights of Chhukung and Imja peaks. You can consider making a short hike towards the memorial site. The village is considered a major transit between Island Peak, Amphu Laptsa Pass, and Makalu Barun National Park. Overnight at Dingboche.

DAY 08: Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m/16,109ft) Walking Distance: 8km, 6-7 hours

After early morning breakfast, you’ll begin trekking along the easy path towards Lobuche. The entire trek may span 6-7hr and will take you through Thukla towards Lobuche. Thukla is home to a popular climbers’ memorial park. After witnessing the park, you’ll continue trekking towards Lobuche village that lies at the foothill of Lobuche Peak. Catch the beautiful sights of Khumbu glacier, Lobuche peak, Mt. Pumori, and Mt. Nuptse at the distance.

DAY 09: Trek Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,140m/16,864ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,598ft) Walking Distance to EBC: 12km, 7-8 hours

Leaving Lobuche, you’ll begin trekking alongside the Khumbu Glacier and make your way towards Gorakshep. A rather easy trail, you’ll arrive at the intersection between Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar. After taking off your backpack and enjoying your lunch at Gorakshep, you’ll make a tremendous hike towards Everest Base Camp. A few hours of the walk alongside the beautiful Khumbu glacier will bring you to a rocky terrain that remains a campsite for the climbers. You can enjoy the surroundings and take pictures before heading back to Gorakshep. The night will be cold, hence you should keep yourself warm.

DAY 10: Trek Gorakshep –Kala Patthar (5643m/182514ft) - Gorakshep, Return to Lukla by Helicopter, Fly to Kathmandu Walking Distance: 2.5 km (2-3 hours)

Today is a rather special day! The day starts early as you leave the hotel and being walking towards Kala Patthar. Kala Patthar at 5643 meters is a landmark that offers a close view of Mount Everest. After enjoying the majestic sight of the summit and the beautiful sunrise, you’ll begin trekking downhill and make your way back to Gorakshep.

After having your breakfast, you’ll embark on a helicopter stationed just outside the village. The aerial tour begins with a scenic flight above the region. You can catch the beautiful view of the lush alpine forests, small Sherpa settlements, glaciers, and mountains as you make your way towards Lukla. The tour continues and takes you to Kathmandu. En route, you can catch the majestic panorama of the mountains and lush green hills.

Once in Kathmandu, you can catch the aerial view of some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 11: Free Day in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,593ft)

Today is a free day. As nothing is planned for today, you can enjoy the day as you wish. You can choose to explore the city and visit some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath. Visit the nearby Thamel area to shop for souvenirs. If you need a good massage, Thamel has many great Trekker’s massage centers. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 12: Final Departure

The last day in Kathmandu can be spent with ease. We’ll drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport in the time of your flight back home.

During the trek all meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) will be provided. You can choose from a selection of meals offered on the menu. Traditional Nepali and Tibetan items include local Dal-Bhat (rice, lentil soup, curry), momo (meat or vegetable dumplings), Thukpa (noodle soup), thenthuk(a vegetable or meat stew), Tibetan bread etc. Indian and continental items include chappati, curries, pancake, pizza, hash brown potatoes, macaroni, spaghetti etc.
