Trip Introduction

Chitwan Jungle Safari is one of the most well-known adventure trips for tourists who wish to see the famous Asian one-horned Rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, and other wildlife that live in the dense deciduous forests of the Chitwan National Park. Chitwan, a valley in inner Terai, hosts the oldest national park of Nepal, covering 932 sq. km along the floodplains of Narayani and Rapti rivers. The Chitwan Jungle Safari is designed for the enthusiasts of nature who seek to immerse into the pristine nature of the Chitwan National Park.

Established in 1973, Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site that offers habitat for other wildlife such as leopard, gaur, wild boar, sloth bear, python, Langur, Gangetic Dolphin, and two types of crocodile – the Needle Snouted Gharial and the Blunt Snouted Marsh Mugger. Kasara, the park headquarters is a short drive from Bharatpur, which is about 20 minutes by air or 164 km by road from Kathmandu- the capital city. The jungle safari fits all age group and there are numbers of comfortable hotels or lodges within or near the national park. You will go into the jungle exploring its wilderness while seated on an elephant back. You can also opt for the jungle walk, jeep drive, canoeing or bird watching as per your preference. You can visit the elephant breeding center and also indulge in elephant bathing. Apart from these, the vibrant Tharu culture and sightseeing of their local villages exhibiting their way of living, culture, and tradition is something you should not miss. You can also enjoy the Tharu cultural dance on your stay in the park. The best time for Chitwan Jungle Safari is late January-March when you can spot plenty of animals in your jungle safari.
